Respect for Autonomy

The personal rule of oneself occurs when one acts intentionally, with understanding and without controlling influences. Allowing others to maintain self-determination is essential in the doctor-patient relationship.

Self Refection

Self reflection is to exercise introspection and the willingness to learn more about one’s fundamental nature, purpose and essence; it is the capacity to contemplate the environment’s response to one’s stimulus value and to discern whether proper validation compels reinforcement or change of existing beliefs and/or behaviors.

Education is the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits. Educational methods include storytelling, discussion, teaching, training, and directed research. Education frequently takes place under the guidance of educators, but learners may also educate themselves.

Symptom Relief

Positive symptoms are symptoms present in a disorder, but not normally experienced by most individuals. They reflect excess or distortion of normal functions . For example, hallucinations are positive symptoms. Negative symptoms are functions that are normally found in healthy persons, but that are diminished or not present in affected persons. Thus, negative symptoms are something that has disappear from a person’s normal way of functioning.

Relationship Building

Emotional intimacy is a deep biological need that effects all other areas of life. Everyone needs support and affection, needs the opportunity to express caring to others the range and intensity of emotions and needs to feel compassionate validation from another human being who can empathize with how it feels to be human.

Sustained Achievement

Change can be exciting and motivating, particular in its early stages. Sustaining change can be difficult if it unbalances personal, familial or workplace equilibrium. While some changes concretize or normalize, others can remain an ongoing struggle. When fortune strikes, sustained achievement materializes to the point of seeming instinctive.

The therapeutic relationship creates a holding environment for individuals to explore their inner feelings, thoughts, motives and relational dynamics within empathetic and safe surroundings.
